Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Diesel Motor Mechanic or similar role, preferably in a commercial automotive repair setting
• Strong knowledge of diesel engine operation, maintenance, and repair techniques
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify engine faults and troubleshoot issues
• Familiarity with diesel engine components, including fuel systems, cooling systems, and emissions control systems
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams to perform repairs and maintenance tasks
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks, on diesel engines
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in diesel engines using diagnostic equipment and manual troubleshooting techniques
• Repair or replace faulty components, such as fuel injectors, turbochargers, and exhaust systems, to restore engine performance
• Conduct engine overhauls and rebuilds as needed to address major issues or failures
• Test drive vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper functioning of diesel engines and related systems
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and labor hours for invoicing and warranty purposes
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for oneself and others
• Stay updated on industry developments and technological advancements in diesel engine technology
