Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Life Sciences, or a related field; Master’s degree in Education or Biology Education preferred.
- Teaching certification or qualification in biology or science education.
- Previous experience teaching biology at the secondary level is preferred.
- Deep understanding of biology concepts and principles, as well as current trends and developments in the field of science education.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to student-centered teaching approaches and active learning strategies.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia is an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging biology lessons that align with curriculum standards and learning objectives.
- Teach students fundamental concepts in biology, including cell biology, genetics, ecology, and evolution.
- Design and implement hands-on laboratory experiments and investigations to reinforce theoretical concepts and develop scientific inquiry skills.
- Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills through inquiry-based learning activities and projects.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and interests of students, including those with varying levels of academic ability and English language proficiency.
- Provide constructive feedback on student work and assessments, and maintain accurate records of student progress and achievements.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects, cross-curricular connections, and extracurricular opportunities related to biology and science.
- Participate in school events, professional development activities, and department meetings to contribute to the school community and enhance teaching practices.
