We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Welder to join our team at Geelong Galvanizing Pty Ltd. This position is approved by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and is specifically open to Filipino workers who are looking to work in Australia. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of welding tasks to fabricate and repair metal structures and components.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Welder or similar role in the metalworking or construction industry.
• Proficiency in various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and ARC welding.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to welding and metal fabrication.
• Good physical condition with the ability to lift and move heavy materials as needed.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team.
• Relevant trade qualifications or certifications in welding.
• Willingness to relocate and work in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine welding requirements.
• Perform welding tasks using various techniques such as MIG, TIG, and ARC welding to join, fabricate, and repair metal components.
• Set up and operate welding equipment, including power supplies, wire feeders, and welding torches.
• Inspect welded surfaces and structures to identify and correct defects, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
• Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition, performing routine maintenance as required.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
• Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and project completion.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on each job.
